It's summer!

This means the annual great PEI migration has begun. Family, friends, and the occasional mortal enemy come to visit in PEI. We had a great time this past Friday with our friends from Halifax, Mardeen. Many a beer met it's end before the sun came up (and a few after). Friends Locomotive 8, from Toronto, landed last night. This means we'll be spending some time in the cottage over the next couple of weeks. The more rain there is, the more time we'll spend indoors coming up with new material, so hope for terrible weather.

Speaking of migration, we'll be migrating across the Strait in a couple of weeks time to join Joel Plaskett, David Myles Trio, Rose Cousins, Steve Poltz and Telfer in Dartmouth on Canada Day for a free outdoor show. If you're in the area, come by and wave a flag at us or something.

Hey Hey He Haw

Our April tour has ended and we're still alive. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us in Toronto (x2), London (x3), Kingston, Windsor, Ottawa, Wolfville, Fredericton, Halifax (x2), and Charlottetown. It was truly amazing to race around Eastern Canada as our song Rope raced up the CBC Radio 3 - R30 chart. Thanks to Two Hours Traffic, Dead Letter Chorus, Boxer The Horse, Milks and Rectangles, The Love Machine, Those Gulls, Ask, and Black Unicorn (to name a few) for sharing the stage with us. Thanks to Shannon P, THT camp, Tom, Eugene, Dan, Roscoe, Allison, Jason, Troy, and Barber (to name a few) for helping us out. Thanks to Zac for the personalized tour of Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

Here's a list of our new favorite places to eat:
The Real Jerk (Toronto)
Sushi Ya (Kingston)
Basil Court and Drunken Burrito (Windsor)

Next up: Aaron goes to Scotland, Andrew turns 21, Josh buys a new Saturn, Ryan goes fishing, and Todd undoubtably does a shit-load of things.

We've got some summer shows scheduled including appearances at this year's Evolve Festival and an exclusive Halifax show with Hey Rosetta! See the SHOWS section for deets. Keep your ears wax-free and you might hear a new song or six which will be gloriously etched into analogue tape this fall.

From Mouse to Moose

Phase two (no, not the amazing cover band from our beloved Charlottetown, but rather the second phase of our April tour) is rapidly approaching.

April 23 - Halifax - The Seahorse*
April 24 - Charlottetown - Hunter's Ale House**
April 26 - Ottawa - Zaphod Beeblebrox
April 27 - Kingston - The Mansion
April 28 - London - Moon Over Marin
April 29 - Windsor - Phog Lounge
April 30 - London - Grooves Record Store
May 1 - Toronto - Rancho Relaxo
*w/Boxer The Horse **w/Milks & Rectangles

Phase one went swimmingly and it was nice to pair up with Two Hours Traffic for all five shows, it had been too long. Non-musical highlights included Big Fat Burrito in Toronto, Curry Garden in London, applying for passports, being told by a couple of party-crashing broads that we needed haircuts (thanks to Al O for stirring the pot), Andrew's triumph over Josh in Hotel Wrestlemania XII, and last but not least, the half-hour driving streak when we shared the road with a mouse, a rabbit, a fox, two deer, and a moose (no lie!!!)

See you again in a week,

Words

Dear Friends,

We've survived the ECMA blast and are currently resting in Charlottetown. Huge thanks to everyone for their support, hard work, and kind words over the weekend.

We'll be laying low for a few weeks, working on some new material, before heading out for a handful of shows with Two Hours Traffic in Ontario and the Maritimes in the first week of April. Then it's back to Ontario at the end of April for a week-long tour. Exciting stuff. Keep an eye on the "shows" section for details.

Talk soon,

EW

New website is up!

As many of you know, we recently released a new 4-song EP, available only to those in attendance at our name change / release party. These recordings are now available to those of you who weren't there. Just go to our A/V page and select any or all of the songs by clicking the song titles on the graphic of the EP packaging. Just save the file and add it to your playlists, or open it and play it from the webpage.

We've got lots of direct links to English Words resources on the left side of our page. These provide you quick access to our Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, Radio 3 profile, Youtube videos, and Electronic Press Kit.

The ECMA's are coming up soon. To date we have 4 appearances booked, with venues to be determined. Keep checking back for updates. We are also in the process of booking a tour through to Toronto and back. Check our shows page frequently for updates.
